What exactly is Housecall Pro?
If you are sorting out where job records end and reporting begins, start with the role of each system. Housecall Pro is the source of the business data discussed here. ServicePro IQ connects to it to provide a Daily Huddle and business reports for owners and managers.

The direct answer
Housecall Pro is software used by home-service businesses to manage customer and job information. In the ServicePro IQ workflow, it is the source of job records and related data. ServicePro IQ reads that data to provide a Daily Huddle and business reports, while Housecall Pro remains the original record.
How to think about Housecall Pro in your business
Picture a plumbing business preparing for the working day. The office needs to know which customer is scheduled, which field technician is associated with the job and what amount is attached to the work. Those details belong to individual customer and job records. A manager may then want to review many jobs together to decide what needs attention.
Those are connected but different tasks. A job record helps you understand a particular visit. A report groups information to answer a broader question, such as how much revenue is scheduled today or which completed jobs deserve a cost review. The useful starting point is your actual workflow, not a general claim that one screen should answer every question.
This page is not a complete catalog of Housecall Pro features, prices or plan entitlements. Evaluate those details in your own Housecall Pro account. For reporting context, the existing Housecall Pro reporting guide can help you choose the questions to investigate. Keep your source-record practices consistent whichever reporting approach you use.
What ServicePro IQ adds on top
ServicePro IQ connects directly to Housecall Pro and reads its data without changing anything in the account. The Daily Huddle shows scheduled jobs for yesterday, today and tomorrow, with customer, field tech, lead source, tags, outstanding balance and revenue. Each day’s scheduled revenue is shown against its revenue goal. Every job in the Daily Huddle and job lists links directly to Housecall Pro.
The business reports answer other owner questions. Profit lists completed jobs with cost, revenue, profit and profit percentage. A/R shows outstanding balances and invoices. Revenue provides totals, a running-total line against the revenue goal, revenue by lead source and a job list. Pipeline groups customers by time since their last job so you can review possible follow-up.
These views are a reporting layer alongside the source records. They do not make every business decision for you. A customer’s unpaid balance needs context, and a completed job’s profit depends on the recorded costs. The ServicePro IQ for Housecall Pro hub connects each report with its purpose and setup details.
How an owner might use both during a working day
Consider a made-up electrical shop with a panel installation today and a service visit tomorrow. In the morning, the manager uses the Daily Huddle to review scheduled jobs and revenue against the daily goal. The crew discusses preparation and access using its knowledge of the work. If a record raises a question, the job link opens the original Housecall Pro job.
Later, the owner checks a completed job in Profit. If the illustrative job has $1,000 in revenue and $700 in recorded costs, the difference is $300. That calculation does not establish whether all relevant expenses are included, and it does not tell the office whether the customer has paid. Those require separate checks.
The office can then use A/R to identify outstanding invoices for follow-up. Give a named person responsibility for checking the specific record before contacting the customer. This is a recommended management routine, not a claim that ServicePro IQ dispatches crews, buys materials or sends collections messages. The report definitions guide explains the distinctions behind each view.
What is required to connect the two systems?
ServicePro IQ needs a Housecall Pro MAX account because Housecall Pro offers API keys on that plan. This requirement applies to the ServicePro IQ connection. It is not a claim that every use of Housecall Pro, or every Housecall Pro reporting task, requires MAX. Housecall Pro’s current subscription pricing is outside the scope of this page.
To connect, ServicePro IQ sends a one-time link. A Housecall Pro admin opens the App Store, searches for API and chooses Generate API key, then pastes the key into the supplied link. ServicePro IQ checks it immediately and reports rejection straight away. The link works for seven days, and only the newest link for the business works. Your contact tells you when reports are ready.
The key is stored encrypted and nobody sees it again after entry, including the ServicePro IQ team. You sign in to ServicePro IQ using Google and use it in a browser with nothing to install. The MAX setup page covers preparation, access and the first report review.
How to decide whether you need another reporting view
Begin with a question your current process should answer. Can the team review today’s plan? Can the owner understand recorded profit on completed work? Can the office identify the invoices it needs to investigate? If your existing reporting routine already supports those decisions, recognize that before adding another tool.
Evaluate ServicePro IQ against its documented reports using familiar jobs. Check dates, filters and definitions before comparing totals. Job and revenue figures refresh hourly at 20 minutes past the hour, while the customer list behind Pipeline and Unscheduled Customers refreshes daily. Marketing spend refreshes daily where connected. These cadences matter when records have just changed.
ServicePro IQ costs $449 per month or $4,490 per year prepaid by ACH, with 3.5% added for card payment. One subscription covers unlimited users and reports.
