Prepare Housecall Pro MAX for ServicePro IQ
The key prerequisite is a Housecall Pro MAX account. Housecall Pro offers API keys on MAX, and ServicePro IQ uses an API key to connect. Confirm the plan and the people responsible for setup first, then connect your account and prepare the reporting access your team needs.

Understand what you are setting up
ServicePro IQ reads Housecall Pro data to provide reports; it does not change your Housecall Pro account. The Daily Huddle shows scheduled jobs for yesterday, today and tomorrow, including the customer, field tech, lead source, tags, outstanding balance and revenue. The Profit page covers completed jobs with cost, revenue, profit and profit percentage.
This means setup should begin with a reporting use case. A garage door manager might choose tomorrow’s scheduled work as the first review. A roofing owner might choose completed-job costs. Having a familiar question ready helps the team check the reports once your contact confirms they are ready.
Do not assume that a connection includes every field or workflow available in the source system. Use the documented report scope as your starting point. The Housecall Pro reporting integration page explains how the supported views fit together.
Complete the connection steps in order
First, confirm that the business uses Housecall Pro MAX and identify the admin who will generate the key. ServicePro IQ sends a one-time connect link. The admin signs in to Housecall Pro, opens the App Store, searches for API and selects Generate API key. Paste the generated key into the supplied connection link.
ServicePro IQ checks the key with Housecall Pro as soon as it is pasted. If Housecall Pro rejects it, ServicePro IQ tells you straight away. This check is separate from report readiness. After connection, your ServicePro IQ contact lets you know when the reports are ready to review.
The link is valid for seven days and only the newest link for the business works. If someone is using an older message, check which link is current before repeating the process. Follow the API key instructions for a focused walkthrough. There is no public connection URL to substitute for the supplied link.
Prepare access, responsibilities and budget
MAX is a requirement for this ServicePro IQ connection, not a claim that every Housecall Pro reporting task requires MAX. Housecall Pro plan pricing and any change to your existing subscription need checking separately. ServicePro IQ costs $449 monthly or $4,490 annually prepaid by ACH; credit card payment adds 3.5%.
ServicePro IQ runs in a web browser and uses Google sign-in. Owners add staff by Google email address and decide who can also add and remove users. Because only people with user-management permission can change goals, make that choice deliberately. A crew lead who needs to read a target does not automatically need responsibility for changing it.
One subscription covers unlimited users and unlimited reports. Each business’s report data is held in its own separate database. Your Housecall Pro API key is stored encrypted and nobody sees it again after entry, including the ServicePro IQ team. See pricing when choosing the subscription arrangement.
Make the first review a deliberate check
Once your contact says the reports are ready, choose a small set of familiar jobs. Check the date range and filters before interpreting totals. Reports default to the current week, Sunday to Saturday, and selected filters stay in place as you move from one report page to another.
Use the Daily Huddle to check the schedule and the Profit page for completed-job economics. For a made-up electrical job, a large invoice may still need a cost review; do not let a revenue total stand in for profit. Open the linked Housecall Pro job whenever a record needs explanation.
Plan around the refresh cadence. Job and revenue figures update hourly at 20 minutes past the hour. The customer list behind Pipeline and Unscheduled Customers updates daily, and connected marketing spend updates daily. The Housecall Pro hub provides the next report-specific steps. Start with a free 7-day trial, no credit card required, and test the routine with the people who will use it. Ask the first reviewers to explain the figures back in their own words. They should be able to distinguish scheduled revenue from collected revenue and completed-job profit. If a definition is unclear, resolve it before using the report in a team discussion. Access to a number is only useful when people agree what it means.
